Dr. Laura Bowler attended the University of Winnipeg for her undergrad where she obtained an Honor’s in Biology and her 4-year Biochemistry degree, for which she received the Gold Medal. She attended Graduate School at the University of Manitoba with an NSERC scholarship and received her PhD in Medical Microbiology. Her research focussed on chronic infections in Cystic Fibrosis patients. Near the end of her program she became interested in knowledge translation and public education of medical research.
Dr. Bowler moved out to rural Manitoba where she is currently a stay-at-home mom. She is involved in her local Kinette group, which helps out her community with various fundraising endeavors. She also loves educating the public through continuing education lectures and sharing new medical research findings.
