Katrina Gee

PhD

Dr. Katrina Gee is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at Queen’s University. She has a PhD in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of Ottawa and completed post-doctoral training at the University of Ottawa. The main interest of Dr. Gee’s lab is understanding how cytokine expression and function is regulated during infection and inflammatory responses in human immune system cells. Their current focus is identifying how cytokines function in disease states and to test for beneficial or detrimental immune responses to potential novel cytokine-related therapeutics. In particular, their projects examine the roles played by the IL-12 family of cytokines.

Dr. Gee is a Knowledge User on the grant. She will contribute to the Network by lending expertise in human immunology and host-pathogen interactions. However, she will also serve as a member of the community and assist in community knowledge translation.
