Brian Leydet

BSc, MPH, PhD

 

Dr. Brian Leydet is a Vector-borne Disease Biologist and Assistant Professor in Disease Ecology/Epidemiology in the Department of Environmental and Forest Biology and the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He has a Master’s of Public Health from the University of North Florida and a PhD in Veterinary Biomedical and Clinical Sciences for Louisiana State University.

 

Dr. Leydet has worked in the field of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases for the past 11 years. The Leydet Lab focuses on the ecology and dynamics of tick-borne disease transmission in small animals, birds and their associated ticks. In addition, he has worked with SUNY Upstate Medical University investigating and developing novel tools to better understand Lyme disease transmission and pathogenesis.

 

Dr. Leydet is a Collaborator on the grant. He will add his expertise on ticks and tick-borne diseases to the Network and work in close collaboration with others. He will be engaged in multiple facets of various research activities.
